This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Spindle Growth Ventures, LLC ("Spindle," "we," "us") is an AI-native venture firm based in Charleston, South Carolina. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit spindlegrowth.com, download our resources, subscribe to The Dispatch, contact us, send us an idea, or otherwise interact with us (the "Services"). It also explains your choices and rights.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us, subscribe, or send us a submission, we collect what you provide: your name, email address, company, role, phone number if you include it, the content of your message, and any brief, deck, document or other material you attach. If you apply to co-found with Spindle or become a conductor, we may collect your background, work history and references.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Services we collect usage and device data such as pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, approximate location, IP address, browser and device type, and the light/dark theme setting you choose, which is stored in your browser. We use cookies and similar technologies for these purposes; see section 6.
Information from other sources. In the course of evaluating a founder, company or partner, we may collect publicly available information and information from business registries, professional networks, references and service providers.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to respond to your messages and submissions; to evaluate founders, ideas, companies and partners; to send you content you requested, including The Dispatch; to operate, secure and improve the Services; to understand how the Services are used; to comply with legal obligations; and to enforce our Terms of Service. With your permission, we may send occasional news about Spindle. You can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Automated tools and AI
Spindle uses software, including artificial intelligence tools, to help organize, summarize and analyze information, including submissions and research. These tools are operated by us or by service providers under contracts that restrict how they may use your information. We do not allow service providers to use your information to train their general-purpose AI models. Decisions about whether to work with a founder or company are made by people.
5. How we share information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only: with service providers who help us run the Services, such as hosting, email, analytics and productivity tools, under contracts that limit their use of it; with our capital partners, co-investors, advisors or counsel when evaluating or pursuing a company you are involved in, under appropriate confidentiality; when required by law, legal process or to protect rights, safety or property; in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets; and with affiliates under common ownership, including companies Spindle has created, where relevant to your request.
6. Cookies
We use necessary cookies and local storage to make the Services work, including remembering your theme preference, and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may affect some features. Where required by law, we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
7. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as needed to respond to you, evaluate an opportunity, maintain a relationship, and meet legal, accounting and dispute-resolution needs. Submissions we decline are retained for a reasonable period so we can recognize ideas we have already reviewed, then deleted or de-identified. You can ask us to delete your information sooner; see section 9.
8. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and limited access on a need-to-know basis. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
9. Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from The Dispatch and marketing emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy; to correct it; to delete it; to opt out of certain uses; and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights. To make a request, email hello@spindlegrowth.com. We will verify your request and respond within the time the law requires. Where the law allows, an authorized agent may make a request for you. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our response.
10. Children
The Services are for business use and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Where information is processed
Spindle is based in the United States. We store and process information in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those where you live.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notice by email.
